Each year between December and May, Humpback whales return to their Hawaiian winter home, congregating around the islands of Maui, Lāna‘i, and Kaho‘olawe. It is in these warm, sheltered waters that the whales are observed, applauded, and glorified. These playful giants are frequently seen breaching,spy-hopping, and fluking, all common marine mammal behaviors.
Ocean Spirit is a high-tech, ultra-smooth, double-deck power catamaran specially designed to minimize the impact of vessel noise on whales and deliver a super-smooth, ultra-comfortable cruising and wildlife viewing experience for all passengers. While loaded with luxurious amenities, the Ocean Spirit remains truly eco friendly, built with the highest allowable level of recycled materials and is powered by Maui Bio-Fuel made from recycled fats and cooking oils from Maui restaurants. The professionally trained crew strictly adheres to the laws and regulations of the Federal Whale Protection Act. Important Requirements and Suggestions:
- No min age requirement. Safety regulations require that infants be secured in a body-strapped holder; those holding infants in arms must remain seated throughout the cruise.
