OCEAN KAYAKING & SNORKELING

Makena

Experience the “other” Hawai‘i as you paddle along secluded coastlines and remote coves. Above water you’ll most likely encounter honu (green sea turtles) and malolo (flying fish). If you are lucky a pod of dolphins or nai‘a will bless you with their presence. Underwater you can explore this aquatic playground with high quality snorkel equipment. Watch as schools of rainbow-hued fish like hīnālea (saddleback wrasse) and uhu (parrotfish) dart around beautiful coral formations. Kayaking is an environmentally sensitive, low impact sport for individuals or the whole family.

These state-of-the-art kayaks are stable, comfortable and seaworthy. Double and single craft are available. All the kayaks have rudder systems, making your voyage safe and enjoyable. Paddle at your own pace; there’s no hurry. Basic instruction, a short paddling distance, and the chance to snorkel offshore are combined to make this a truly outstanding adventure. Whether you’re an old salt or a landlubber, you’ll enjoy this unique activity.
