The serene resort area of Wailea boasts a trio of 18-hole championship caliber golf courses; Wailea Emerald, Wailea Gold, and Wailea Old Blue. Either open play or in tournament format, these challenging courses will test the mettle of even the most accomplished player.
At 7,070-yards, the Wailea Gold Course is the most challenging of the three. In designing this beauty, Robert Trent Jones, Jr. went back to a more classic and pure style of golf. Features such as exposed lava flows and walls, massive kiawe trees, and thick stands of native Hawaiian grasses make playing this course a unique experience. The difficulty here is not only the natural occurring hazards, but also becoming enchanted with the fantastic panoramic views of the neighboring islands of Molokini and Kaho‘olawe. The Wailea Gold Course proudly hosted the 2003 PGA Senior and LPGA Skins’ Game.
