Breathtaking vistas of the lofty summit of Haleakalā. Unique coral reef formations and schools of rainbow hued fish. Fun-in-the-sun, good friends, good times. Experience all this and more as you take to the water on one of Maui’s premier sailing vessels.
Ali‘i Nui is a 60-foot catamaran that will transport you from Mā‘alaea Harbor to some of Maui’s premier snorkel locations. The friendly and professional crew will provide detailed snorkel instruction for first-timers and dive tips to the more seasoned aquanaut. The Hawaiian islands have one of the highest concentrations of indigenous or native marine life on the planet, making a South Maui coastline snorkel experience akin to swimming in an aquarium. Boogie boards and boogie boards with viewers, water noodles, wetsuit tops, premium snorkel gear and a heated fresh-water “rinse off” shower help ensure a first-class day out on the water. Maui’s coastal waters are home to a plethora of creatures; kīkākapu, the rainbow striped butterfly fish, the stunning kihikihi or Moorish idol, black spiny sea urchins called wana and shy he‘e or octopus. The endangered honu or green sea turtle are occasionally seen. If you’re lucky spinner dolphins will make an appearance, playing in the Ali‘i Nui’s bow wave or entertaining you with acrobatic displays of sheer fun.
Food always tastes better on the water, a fact that you will agree on after sampling a bountiful deli luncheon buffet. After snorkeling kick back and relax as the crew sets course for a smooth trip back to the harbor. Fun and adventure are yours to enjoy as you venture out to sea with the Ali‘i Nui.
